Biography<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Professor Patrick C. Hallenbeck obtained a PhD in Biophysics in 1978 (University of California, Berkeley). Named professor emeritus, he is currently adjunct professor at the University of Montreal and a visiting professor at the US Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs. Professor Hallenbeck\u2019s current main research focus is on microbial physiology and biofuels. He is the editor of 2 Books, the author of 37 Book Chapters\/Review articles and over 60 Research Articles.\u00a0 Dr. Hallenbeck has served as an ad hoc reviewer for many different journals (more than 150 completed to date) and has given numerous (over 100) conference presentations.\u00a0 He is the President of the Biohydrogen Division of the International Association for Hydrogen Energy; Canadian Expert to Task 21 (Biohydrogen) of the Hydrogen Implementing Agreement of the International Energy Agency, and received an Outstanding Scientist award-IFIBiop 2012.\u00a0 He is a member of the editorial boards of Bioresource Technology, Frontiers in Microbiology and Marine Biotechnology and is Section Editor for Biotechnology for Biofuels.\u00a0 He has served on the organizing committees of numerous international conferences, was chair of ISPP2009 and of BioH2 2013.\u00a0 His areas of expertise include microbial diversity, microbial physiology, biotechnology and biofuels.<\/p>\n
