Title. Adaptive immune parameters that regulate chronic central nervous system autoimmunity
Abstract. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic degenerative disease of the brain and spinal cord that is caused by an autoimmune attack against CNS tissues. Progressive MS is particularly refractory to current treatment modalities. In this seminar, I will discuss the role of biological sex in regulating disease outcomes in a model of progressive MS. I will also discuss the role of B cells in disease processes.
